There are many second chance stories in progress. Some people
have just realized that they have received a second chance. Others are
in the middle of doing something productive with them. Some have had
success and are finding ways to give back. All are inspiring and motivating in their
own ways.
An example of positive attitude and a USGA-certified 6 handicap was all Vince Biser, 21, needed to win the North American One-Armed Golfer Association championship.
Not that he pays attention to any of it, but Biser "suffers from
cerebral palsy, has limited vision, virtually no use of the entire right side
of his upper body and, as a result of surgery five years ago required to
alleviate debilitating seizures, is missing a section of his brain", according to FanHouse.

The Patriot Academy's
firstclass has 47 students from
16 states to finish "unfinished business" according to Army Col. Perry Sarver, Jr., the academy's commander. He told NTXI
news.com "They are getting a second chance to right a wrong. These young men
have started down a path that will change their lives forever."
Jones, 23 years old, currently serving in Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
He overcame adversity to be
the first marine to go back to Afghanistan as an amputee.
Cpl. Garrett S. Jones ,17 surgeries and one year later ,with a total of six walking
prosthetics and one snowboarding prosthetic, had to
prove himself as a marine all over again. Jones said to War On Terror News: "I
want to set the example for other amputees. I want to show them that a bad
thing might happen, but you can still make good of bad circumstances."

losing his mother to alcoholism 18 months ago, this 14 year old Eagle Scout
gives back to a behavioral health care center and helps himself in the healing
process.

Krebs talked to the Desert News about the peaceful reflection patio he
is building: "I chose this project because it's really about giving
others a second chance," Logan said. "I was way glad to find this one."
